Big Earth Data in Support of the Sustainable Development Goals (2022) - China

Guo Huadong is Director General of the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) and Professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Aerospace Information Research Institute. He is Academician of CAS, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Foreign Member of the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters, and Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He presently serves as Honorary President of the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), Director of the International Center on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the Auspices of UNESCO, Member of the International Science Council (ISC) Global Commission on Science Missions for Sustainability, Chair of Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR), and Editor-in-Chief of two scientific journals International Journal of Digital Earth and Big Earth Data. He served as Member of UN 10-Member Group to support the Technology Facilitation Mechanism for SDGs (2018-2021), Chairman of the International Committee of Remote Sensing of Environment (2017-2020), and President of ISDE (2015-2019) and ICSU Committee on Data for Science and Technology (2010-2014). Prof. Guo specializes in remote sensing, radar for Earth observation, and Digital Earth science. He has published more than 500 papers and 24 books and is the awardee of 19 international and domestic prizes.

郭華東是可持續發展目標大數據國際研究中心（CBAS）的主任，以及中國科學院（CAS）航天信息研究所的教授。他是中國科學院院士、俄羅斯科學院外籍院士、芬蘭科學與文學學會外籍會員，以及世界科學院（TWAS）院士。目前，他擔任國際數位地球學會（ISDE）名譽會長、聯合國教科文組織下的自然與文化遺產空間技術國際中心主任、國際科學理事會（ISC）可持續發展科學任務全球委員會成員、數位一帶一路計畫（DBAR）主席，以及兩本科學期刊《國際數位地球期刊》和《大地數據》的主編。他曾擔任聯合國10人小組成員，以支持可持續發展目標的技術促進機制（2018-2021）、環境遙感國際委員會主席（2017-2020）、ISDE會長（2015-2019）及國際科學理事會數據科學與技術委員會主席（2010-2014）。郭教授專注於遙感、地球觀測雷達及數位地球科學。他已發表超過500篇論文和24本書籍，並獲得19項國際及國內獎項。
