The networking of devices, machines and systems plays a key role in Industry 4.0. This textbook conveys the basic knowledge required for the successful use of intelligent networked production systems. Its coverage includes the architectures and services for Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things, communication infrastructures and protocols for Industry 4.0 production systems and networking in the digital factory.The basics of networked systems are illustrated using numerous application cases.
