Dr. Ochasi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioethics and Interdisciplinary Studies at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University, North Carolina. He holds dual doctorate degrees in Bioethics and Organizational Leadership. Before joining Brody, he taught bioethics at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and leadership courses at the MacArthur School of Leadership, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida. As a clinical bioethicist, he has conducted ethics teaching rounds, lectures, and consultations for over 500 medical students, interns, residents, and fellows at 14 acute-care hospitals across four states in the Northeast. Dr. Ochasi has authored book chapters and numerous articles in both national and international bioethics journals. His research interests include moral distress and moral disengagement in healthcare, the role of artificial intelligence in medicine, reusable medical devices in low- and middle-income countries, health equity and access, and organ donation and transplantation.
