Sustainable Rural Tourism in Himalayan Foothills: Environmental, Social and Economic Challenges: A Study of Himachal Pradesh

Prof. Suneel Kumar received his PhD in Tourism Marketing and Tourists Behavior from Himachal Pradesh University Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (India). He is Professor in Department of Commerce in Shaheed Bhagat Singh College at University of Delhi (India). Currently he is working on a major research project as a Co-Principal Investigator which is awarded by ICSSR, Ministry of Education, and Government of India entitled on "Eco-Tourism: A Panacea For Sustainable Development In Himachal Pradesh". He is Principal Investigator and nodal officer of a major research project funded by National Commission for Women, Government of India, entitled on "A Study on Working and Effectiveness of Women Police Stations (WPS) in Himachal Pradesh". His current research interests lie in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Rural tourism, Sustainability, Eco - Tourism and green practices, Destination branding and Marketing. Prof. Suneel has published more than two dozen research papers inScopus/ Web of Science/ ABDC/ UGC Care listed journals. He has published about one dozen chapters in the edited books published by Emerald/ Springer Nature/Francis & Taylor. Prof. Suneel has presented more than forty research papers in National and International conferences.

Suneel Kumar 教授於印度喜馬偕爾邦的喜馬偕爾邦大學（Himachal Pradesh University Shimla）獲得旅遊行銷與遊客行為的博士學位。他是德里大學（University of Delhi）沙希德·巴哈特·辛格學院（Shaheed Bhagat Singh College）商學系的教授。目前，他擔任一項由印度教育部社會科學研究委員會（ICSSR）頒發的重大研究計畫的共同首席研究員，該計畫題為《生態旅遊：喜馬偕爾邦可持續發展的良方》。他也是由印度政府女性委員會資助的另一項重大研究計畫的首席研究員及聯絡官，該計畫題為《喜馬偕爾邦女性警察局（WPS）的運作與效能研究》。他目前的研究興趣包括旅遊與款待管理、鄉村旅遊、可持續性、生態旅遊與綠色實踐、目的地品牌與行銷。Suneel 教授在 Scopus、Web of Science、ABDC 和 UGC Care 列表的期刊上發表了超過二十篇研究論文。他在 Emerald、Springer Nature 和 Francis & Taylor 出版的編輯書籍中發表了約十二篇章節。Suneel 教授在國內外會議上發表了超過四十篇研究論文。
