Cyanobacteria in Biotechnology: Applications and Quantitative Perspectives

Katja Bühler holds a professorship for the "Technology of Productive Biofilms" at the Institute of Natural Products Engineering at Technical University Dresden in a joint appointment with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) Leipzig, where she heads the research group "Catalytic Biofilms". Her scientific work at the UFZ focuses on utilizing biofilms as catalysts for the production of value added compounds and hydrogen with a focus on Cyanobacteria. In January 2021 she was appointed into the national hydrogen council.

Pia Lindberg is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry - Ångström, Uppsala University, Sweden. Her research is on metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria for solar-driven production of chemicals and fuels, with a focus on terpenes and terpenoids.
