本書介紹了軟體定義系統的概念、架構及其啟用技術，如軟體定義感測器網路（SDSN）、軟體定義無線電、雲端/霧端無線接取網路（C/F-RAN）、軟體定義網路（SDN）、網路功能虛擬化（NFV）、軟體定義儲存、虛擬化及 Docker。作者還討論了在軟體定義系統中的資源分配和任務排程，主要集中於感測、通信、網路和計算。

本書包含有關 SDSN、C/F-RAN、SDN 和 NFV 的相關案例研究，並探討這些技術如何相互協作，以實現軟體定義系統中的跨資源管理和任務排程。書中介紹並評估了新穎的資源分配和任務排程演算法。

Deze Zeng is currently a Full Professor in School of Computer Science, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in computer science from University of Aizu, Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan, in 2013 and 2009, respectively. He received his B.S. degree from School of Computer Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 2007. His current research interests include: network function virtualization, software-defined networking, cloud computing and edge computing. He has authored 1 book and over 80 papers in refereed journals and conferences in these areas. He also received 3 best paper awards from IEEE/ACM conferences and the IEEE Systems Journal Annual Best Paper Award of 2017. He serves in editorial boards of Journal of Network and Computer Applications, Frontiers of Computer Science, and guest editors of many prestigious journals. He has been the in organization or program committees of many international conferences including ICPADS, ICA3PP, CollaberateCom, MobiQuitous, ICC, Globecom. He is a member of IEEE.
Lin Gu received her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in computer science from the University of Aizu in 2015 and 2011, respectively. She received her B.S. degree from the School of Computer Science and Technology, Huangzhou University of Science and Technology (HUST), in 2009. She is now with the Services Computing Technology and System Lab, Cluster and Grid Computing Lab in the School of Computer Science and Technology, HUST. Her current research interests include cloud computing, big data, and software-defined networking.
Shengli Pan received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2011 and 2016, respectively. From Nov. 2014 to Nov. 2015, he was a visiting Ph.D. student in Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), supervised by Prof. Katerina Argyraki. He has become an assistant professor in the School of Computer Science, China University of Geosciences since 2017. Currently, he is also an on-the-job post-doc in Prof. Ying-chang Liang's (IEEE, Fellow, Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers) lab at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His main research interests include computer networks, network measurements, and network security.
Song Guo is a Full Professor at Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from University of Ottawa and was a professor with the University of Aizu from 2007 to 2016. His research interests are mainly in the areas of big data, cloud computing and networking, and distributed systems with over 400 papers published in major conferences and journals. His work was recognized by the 2016 Annual Best of Computing: Notable Books and Articles in Computing in ACM Computing Reviews. He is the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Systems Journal Annual Best Paper Award and other five Best Paper Awards from IEEE/ACM conferences. His research has been sponsored by JSPS, JST, MIC, NSF, NSFC, and industrial companies. Prof. Guo was an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems 2011-2015 and an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer 2016-2017. He is now on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, and IEEE Communications. Prof. Guo also served as General, TPC and Symposium Chair for numerous IEEE conferences. He currently is the Member of Board of Governors and Director of Membership Services of IEEE Communications Society.

曾志目前是中國地質大學（武漢）計算機科學學院的全職教授。他於2013年和2009年分別在日本會津大學獲得計算機科學的博士和碩士學位。他於2007年在中國華中科技大學計算機科學與技術學院獲得學士學位。他目前的研究興趣包括：網路功能虛擬化、軟體定義網路、雲計算和邊緣計算。他在這些領域已發表1本書和超過80篇的期刊和會議論文。他還獲得了3個IEEE/ACM會議的最佳論文獎以及2017年IEEE系統期刊年度最佳論文獎。他擔任《網路與計算機應用期刊》、《計算機科學前沿》等期刊的編輯委員會成員，並擔任多個知名期刊的客座編輯。他曾參與多個國際會議的組織或程序委員會，包括ICPADS、ICA3PP、CollaberateCom、MobiQuitous、ICC、Globecom。他是IEEE的成員。

林谷於2015年和2011年分別在會津大學獲得計算機科學的博士和碩士學位。她於2009年在華中科技大學計算機科學與技術學院獲得學士學位。她目前在華中科技大學的服務計算技術與系統實驗室、集群與網格計算實驗室工作。她目前的研究興趣包括雲計算、大數據和軟體定義網路。

潘勝利於2011年和2016年分別在中國電子科技大學獲得工程學士和博士學位。2014年11月至2015年11月，他在瑞士洛桑聯邦理工學院（EPFL）擔任訪問博士生，指導教授為Katerina Argyraki教授。自2017年以來，他成為中國地質大學計算機科學學院的助理教授。目前，他也是中國電子科技大學Ying-chang Liang教授（IEEE會士、Thomson Reuters高被引研究者）實驗室的在職博士後。他的主要研究興趣包括計算機網路、網路測量和網路安全。

郭松是香港理工大學計算系的全職教授。他在渥太華大學獲得計算機科學博士學位，並於2007年至2016年擔任會津大學的教授。他的研究興趣主要集中在大數據、雲計算和網路以及分散式系統，已在主要會議和期刊上發表超過400篇論文。他的工作在2016年被《ACM Computing Reviews》評選為計算領域年度最佳著作：顯著書籍和文章。他是2017年IEEE系統期刊年度最佳論文獎的獲得者，並獲得其他五個IEEE/ACM會議的最佳論文獎。他的研究得到了JSPS、JST、MIC、NSF、NSFC和工業公司的資助。郭教授曾擔任IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems的副編輯（2011-2015）和IEEE通信學會的傑出講者（2016-2017）。他目前是IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing、IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing、IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing、IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking以及IEEE Communications的編輯委員會成員。郭教授還擔任多個IEEE會議的總主席、技術程序委員會主席和研討會主席。他目前是IEEE通信學會的理事會成員和會員服務主任。
