Oracle has announced big changes to its Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Java SE 11 certification program.

As of October 1, 2020, the OCP Java SE 11 Programmer I Exam 1Z0-815 and Programmer II Exam 1Z0-816 will be retired, and Oracle will begin offering a new Developer Exam 1Z0-819 to replace the previous exams. The good news is you'll only need to pass one exam instead of two exams to earn the OCP certification

If you're working toward the current OCP Java SE 11 certification, keep going. You have until October 1, 2020 to complete your current OCP. If you've already taken the Programmer I Exam 1Z0-815 and would like to take the Programmer II Exam 1Z0-816, you have until September 30, 2020 to take the exam in the current program. NOTE: Oracle will continue to offer the Upgrade Exam 1Z0-817 (Upgrade from OCA Java 7 & 8).
