This is one of the first books to introduce underwater acoustic networks from the networking and system perspectives, covering the key underwater technologies from the physical to the application layers. Then, it discusses two popular Medium Access Control (MAC) methods, namely random access control and Time Division Multiple access (TDMA), which are aimed at improving channel efficiency in underwater environments.
