Amitabha Ghoshal is a civil Engineering graduate from Bengal Engineering College (now a centre of excellence as IIEST), he is Fellow/ Member of large number of Professional Institutions like Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), Institution of Engineers (India), International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineers (IABSE), and he contributes extensively to professional publications. He has been responsible for formulation and publication of Codes of Practice for diverse engineering subjects on behalf of IRC (Indian Road Congress) and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). After working for an Internationally reputed Construction agency, BBJ, on design and construction of Bridges and other structures, he took charge of the Eastern Zone offices of STUP Consultants Pvt Ltd, an Indo French consulting organisation with footprint in many countries in South East and Mid East Asia, and had continued with same Organisation as Advisor to Board. Responsible for export of Indian Consultancy services to many countries, he is currently the President of the Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI).
