Learn how to accomplish customer outcome-based goals and help your organization rediscover purpose with evidence-based management practices.

Unlocking Business Agility with Evidence-Based Management: Satisfy Customers and Improve Organizational Effectiveness teaches you empirically-driven management. This book describes how organizations can use goals to reconnect their work to improving the value that they deliver to customers, and to escape the trap they often create for themselves of having goals that are internally focused. Evidence-based management enables organizations to become adaptable to feedback. Most organizations find themselves with a deeply entrenched planning-centered culture that determines everything from how work is funded, to how success is measured, to how people are rewarded. It takes time for an organization's culture to evolve into a feedback-oriented culture and there are inevitably setbacks along the way. This book will guide organizations in their efforts to develop feedback-oriented cultures, and help them chart their own paths based on feedback and experimentation in a more Agile way.

  • Clarify goals and demonstrate value, success, and progress using agile metrics
  • Progress toward goals in uncertain and rapidly changing circumstances
  • Embrace empiricism and experimentation to find solutions for complex problems
  • Find real-world anonymized case studies as examples of how to articulate goals and measurements in a way that fosters self-management and business agility
